Community Conversation:  Artist Lofts on Lake Street

When |   Monday, September 11, 2017, 5:30PM

What |   Join us for a community conversation and dinner to discuss as a community an exciting project as we plan for Artist Lofts on Lake Street.  As part of the planning process, we are inviting you our community members to help us shape these spaces.

Who |   Omaha Economic Development Corporation in partnership with The Union for Contemporary Art and the City of Omaha have received an Our Town planning grant from the National Endowment for the Arts for $75,000 to initiate research and planning for the artist live/work residences on Lake Street.  Please join us and the architectural teams of Min|Day and SO-IL.

Why |  The event is for the residents of 68110 and 68111.  Persons not in the designated zip codes can provide input by answering the online survey. The Community Conversation will bring the community together to share ideas and actions that will benefit the community as a whole.  Questions that the community will be asked to answer in relationship to this project include:

·         What is an icon of pride for the community, and what about North Omaha is worth celebrating?

·         What brings people in North Omaha together?  (Food? Music? Art?)

·         What infrastructure or change can improve the neighborhood?  (For example, more BCycle stations, public benches)

·         What are some of the local institutions that you’d like to have a presence in the neighborhood?

Where | On the proposed Artist Lofts located on Lake Street between North 24th & North 22nd Streets, Omaha, NE
